During the COVID-19 pandemic, our office is postponing routine care and is only open for emergency services and phone calls until we re-open on Tuesday, June 2nd.  We recognize that we have been cleared to start seeing non-emergent cases, however, many items that we are wanting to implement, to protect our patients and our team members, have been back-ordered. We want to ensure that you are safe while attending your visits with PRESCOTT Endodontics. If you are a patient of record, please contact Dr. Prescott directly, on her cell phone. If you are a new patient, please call our office & leave a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding in light of the current COVID-19 situation and wish you health and safety during these times.

Re-Opening Information & Procedures

We will resume normal business hours beginning Tuesday, June 2nd. When you come in for an appointment, we are asking you to follow certain procedures to avoid crowds in the waiting room and for the health and safety of everyone involved.

When You Come In

  • Please come alone. Do not bring your spouse, children, or any other people, unless you need assistance.
  • Please reschedule your appointment if you are feeling ill or have COVID-19. Do not come in if you have a fever or cough, or have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19.
  • If you arrive early, we ask that you wait in your car until we are ready to see you.

Steps We Are Taking

We have always complied with strict OSHA-mandated protocols to maintain a highly sterile environment within our endodontic office. These guidelines were created to safeguard against the spread of severely contagious airborne diseases, such as tuberculosis, and they are equally effective in managing the spread of influenza and coronavirus. Below is a summary of the steps currently in place to ensure patient and employee safety:

Employee Health Screening:  At this time, employees are required to wear masks at all times. Employees are also having their temperatures monitored twice daily in order to screen for any potential illnesses.

Patient Health Screening: Due to concerns about patient and team member safety, we ask that all patients experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, nausea, gastric issues, vomiting and difficulty breathing) to reschedule their appointments. Patients are being screened over the telephone prior to their appointments, and will also be screened upon arrival to our office. This screening involves questions (produced by the CDC and American Dental Association guidelines), as well as temperature checks.

Sterilization Procedures: The foundation of our infection control procedures is based on requirements established by the CDC that state that all bodily fluids are treated as infectious, because patients with bloodborne infections can be asymptomatic or unaware that they are infected. This includes bodily fluids in airborne droplets from coughs or sneezes. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used in our office, which includes gowns, surgical caps, microscope shields, face shields-when not behind the microscope shields, masks and gloves are designed to ensure that no blood or bodily fluids can be passed between PRESCOTT Endodontics team members and patients. These items are washed and disinfected or discarded between patients to mitigate any patient-to-patient transmission. Strict surface sterilization procedures are followed to clean and disinfect all operatory surfaces between patients and, after each use, all dental instruments are cleaned and heat sterilized in steam autoclave machines in individual sterile pouches.

Other Pracautions: As a result of the current coronavirus concern, we have taken added precautions in the common areas, as well as our operatories. Surgically Clean Air Units have been ordered and will be installed in both operatories, as well as our reception area. A Dental Aerosol Vacuum will be installed in our operatory, and used anytime an aerosol producing procedure is performed. All magazines and pamphlets have been removed. Lobby surfaces and patient restrooms are disinfected every hour. This includes a thorough wipe down of all hard surfaces, such as door handles, door knobs, tables, chairs and front office counters with a disinfectant wipe. In addition, patient are being advised to practice social distancing in our lobby area and wait in their cars, if possible, until it is time for their appointment. According to the CDC, the most important steps we all can take to avoid infection from airborne diseases are frequent hand washing with soap and water and regular cleansing of highly-used surfaces with disinfectant. We have placed hand sanitizer in various locations throughout our offices, for all patients and team members to use. We encourage all of our patients to take these basic precautions.

Thank you for your trust in us during this time.
